Okay, by just looking at the artwork I deduce that all Holmes and Watson are doing 24/7 is basically sitting around in chairs while judging everything (unless they get up to judge more ppl).

This is one of the things that has always fascinated me about Jim Moriarty - and really it goes down to the root of Andrew Scott’s sheer talent.  It’s difficult to make someone look as though they’ve been through hell from the actor’s perspective; sure, the makeup crew can tinker with features, but to look at the difference in his face…

Let’s look at the fall.  Of course there’s the obvious difference in hair, but look at the pinch in his brow, the difference in how his eyes are set and eyebrows low.  The tightness around his eyes.  The set of his scowl and the vehement hate in his chin.  It’s just this entire distaste for what the game’s become.

You can see how on the right, he has hope.  Excitement.  He’s got something to look forward to.  I personally don’t believe that in TGG/Pool scene Jim, he knew he was going to die before it was all over with.  I honestly don’t.  There isn’t a vacancy in his eyes on the right, while on the left there’s just, I don’t know, a desolate gleam?  Yeah, he knew he was going to his death on the left.  But in the right, he looks like a dog when his master has a squeaky toy, except he has full intent on biting the hand instead of the toy.

I don’t know.  I just have so many feels for this character.  And Andrew Scott for being able to portray such a difference for one character from one point in time to another.  They barely look like the same person.

It makes me wonder if the game getting ‘boring’ because he bested Holmes was all that happened to him…

No one ever gets to me… And no one ever will.

Over the course of his acquaintance with Sherlock, it strikes me that his state of mind has deteriorated drastically. We did see flashes of Jim’s darker side at the pool — we saw slight hints of the desperation inside of him, but never anything as intense as the sheer disappointment that is blatantly written all over Jim’s face on the left.

People like to assume that Jim ‘doesn’t feel’ because ‘omg he’s such a psycho’. I’ve said this before and I’ll say it again: Jim Moriarty is the most expressive character on the show. Take a good look at this little bastard. He’s Sherlock’s most revered nemesis and he wears his heart on his sleeve.
And there he is with that deep set child-like frown on his face. His hopes have turned to dust before his eyes. Sherlock Holmes is ordinary, he’s going to kill himself to save his boring friends and Jim’s going to be alone again. He’s going to be stuck, trapped in the same old cycle of never changing never ending life. He can do whatever he wants - Jim’s a free man with the world at his fingertips.
But as long as Sherlock is ordinary, he’ll never get what he actually wanted -
to find someone just like him. To be understood. To be entertained. To be completed. He saw an opportunity to not  be bored, to not  be alone, because a man had come along who was so strikingly similar to Jim, a man who could actually keep up with him. With Sherlock, he doesn’t need to explain what’s going on in his head because Sherlock already knows, and already understands.
… Except (to Jim’s knowledge at least), he doesn’t know and he doesn’t understand, meaning that it’s all over. Jim’s had enough. The hope and the promise that we saw during their first encounter is gone. In Jim’s mind, Sherlock has blown it. He had hoped for so much and recieved so little. So he walks away and leaves, not even watching what were to be Sherlock’s final moments because it doesn’t even matter anymore.

Then, just minutes after the GIF on the left, we see Jim genuinely happy, so much so that there are tears in his eyes and he’s thanking Sherlock and meaning every last word. That’s the thing about Jim - he’s so changeable. Changeability is an emotional reflex. Push him in the right direction, and he will react.

Andrew Scott is an amazing actor. The way he manages to create such a terrifying criminal antagonist whilst also portraying someone so very human is completely and utterly breathtaking. This man deserves all the awards.

This is the BEST line because it was so weird and unnecessary to identify random CIA henchmen #2 by name

And none of the other CIA dudes ever got named in the dialogue despite being in multiple scenes and, you know, actually having lines
